Emission Factor

A number that helps convert activity data into emissions. You get emission factors from databases, they are updated on a yearly basis.

Example: If burning 1 liter of diesel emits 2.68 kg CO₂e, then 2.68 is the emission factor.

Tip: Our tool provides a vast range of emission factors which are matched to your emission sources automatically. If you have your own emission factor e.g. from your electricity provider you can of course use this emission factor instead.
