Kiwa verifies Global Changer's AI-powered PCF software according to ISO 14067 and ISO 14040/44

Kiwa-Ecobility Experts has verified the AI-powered Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) software from Global Changer in accordance with ISO 14067 and ISO 14040/44. The assessment covers the calculation methodology, the study report generated by the tool, and the PCF software itself. The conformity statement (certificate) was issued on August 27, 2026, and is now publicly accessible.

This provides independent verification of ISO conformity for the AI-powered calculation of PCFs using Global Changer's software. Companies using Global Changer's PCF software can present auditors and customers with an auditable and ISO-conformant PCF calculated according to ISO 14067.

Three benefits of PCF verification for businesses

A robust foundation instead of a need for explanation. The conformity of the PCF calculation methodology, the PCF software, and the PCF report with ISO 14067 and ISO 14040/44 has been confirmed by an accredited body and is publicly accessible, including the scope of the assessment, the version, and documented deviations.

Faster and more cost-efficient path to a verified PCF. How Kiwa-Ecobility Experts assessed Global Changer's PCF software

The assessment by Kiwa-Ecobility Experts consisted of two parts. Professionally, the PCF report generated by the PCF software was evaluated against the criteria of ISO 14067: declared unit and reference flow, system boundaries, cut-off criteria, allocation procedures, characterization factors according to IPCC AR6, the separate disclosure of fossil, biogenic, and land-use emissions, as well as the assessment of data quality.

Practically, the PCF software was tested with trial calculations, data import tests, and targeted verification of the AI results. The focus was on reproducibility: the same input must reliably lead to the same decomposition into materials and processes and the selection of the same emission factor dataset. Generative language models, such as ChatGPT or Claude, do not meet this requirement.

A cradle-to-gate scope was assessed. The modules for Corporate Carbon Footprint and reduction planning were not part of the assessment.
